This looks familiar. Once again let's look at the scope waveform photos and explanatory diagrams. The properly adjusted tape path exhibits the characteristics of the photo and diagram at the top. Improper entrance adjustment is illustrated by the middle photo and graph. We have corrected this previously so now we verify that the envelope is flat like we want as we lower the tracking to 60% of maximum. If it doesn't we proceed with the exit side adjustment. In almost all cases performing the entrance adjustment affects the exit so it has to be fine tuned.
