PORTABLE BETAS

The original intent of the Betamax was to replace the 8mm film used for making home movies. Sony reasoned that being able to record and immediately review your efforts was far better than the time that processing that film required. So the portability and immediacy was the aim and putting Betamax in the home was the vehicle. Record with the portable using a camera then watch the results later on your television. The way it turned out was the in-home deck became a sensation first and then adding the portability came later. The portables took a back seat but if you were serious about achieving your history a Beat Portable was the way to go.
